Headteachers Welcome

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our school community. At Melksham House, we are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all our pupils, aged 4 to 18. Our focus is on children and young people who present with an Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA) profile, and we understand that everyone is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, and needs.

Our approach is centred on the belief that every child and young person deserves a chance to succeed, and we are committed to helping them overcome barriers to education, build resilience, and discover their full potential. We know that children and young people with EBSA require not only specialised teaching methods but also emotional and social support to thrive, and that’s exactly what we provide here.

Through a combination of personalised learning, therapeutic support, and close collaboration with families and external agencies, we ensure that every child and young person receives the tailored care and attention they deserve. We also recognise the importance of creating a nurturing environment where pupils feel valued, respected, and empowered to engage with their learning in their own time and way.

At Melksham House, we are proud of the progress our students make, both academically and emotionally. Every step forward is celebrated, no matter how small, and each achievement is a testament to the dedication of our staff, the resilience of our pupils, and the strong partnerships we have with families.

We are here not only to teach but to inspire, guide, and support every child and young person on their educational journey. We understand the importance of building trust and relationships, and we believe that when children feel safe and supported, they are better able to take risks, face challenges, and ultimately flourish.

Thank you for being part of this wonderful community. We look forward to working together to make a positive difference in the lives of our pupils.
